Ground Yourself With a Set Of Dailies.
The one thing in life that’s the same for all of us is time—no one can build, borrow, or buy more. And, in a day’s time, there are only 24 hours. The difference is how people use this time to their advantage.
Over and over, studies prove the cognitive benefits of the following four essential daily to dos will positively impact your life. Take control of your 24-hours by setting an intentional plan that includes these four essentials:
Sleep
Prioritize sleep by hitting the pillow for 7-8 hours of sleep daily. A good night’s sleep has proven scientific benefits. Read what Arianna Huffington has to say in her book, The Sleep Revolution: Transforming Your Life, One Night at a Time.
Exercise
Feel your own energy through movement. Set 30 minutes a day, even split that into 15-minute increments. Walk the dog twice daily, go for a jog, hit the stationary bike, lift weights, dance between meetings. Whatever works for you and at whatever velocity is comfortable for you. Just move. 30 minutes is about 2 percent of your daily routine. No sweat, right?
Meditation
If meditating is new for you, start small. I often hear, “I can’t clear my mind,” resulting in people giving up. Don’t give up. What’s happening is natural, expected, and all the more reason to stay with it. Try box breathing to get you started and build from there. When you find your flow with meditation, you will feel your power and your energy will come back to you.
Learning
Spend 30-60 minutes each day learning something new. Daily learning will help lift you up, have a more positive outlook, increase your confidence, and motivate you with energy, purpose, and joy.
